ASHLEY ACOSTA-PARRA

Undergraduate Researcher

I'm a fourth-year NPB major and the proud daughter of two immigrants and was born and raised in California's Central Valley. As a first-generation student, I am very passionate about biology education research because I understand how difficult it can be for students to engage with STEM material and I would love to see STEM education enhanced for students of diverse backgrounds through the integration of social science into their science courses. Additionally, I also want to later evaluate the long-term impact of different kinds of teaching on student retention and development in STEM. Outside of school and work, I love to go to the gym and cook!
