AKSHAYA RAVI
Undergraduate Researcher
I am a first year undergraduate student at UC Davis pursuing a B.S. in Biological Sciences on a pre-med track. I am a first generation immigrant, born in India and later moved to the United States in the 5th grade. My unique perspective on education as a young immigrant and my keen interest in the subjects of biological sciences is what drives my passion for this research on diversity in STEM education.
In addition, I am actively involved in a social justice initiative called the Faces of Fremont, a public art installation that aims to creatively showcase the shared humanity of the housed and unhoused population. Through working in the Tripp Lab, I hope to share my experience with establishing social justice to promote equity among students in STEM education. A fun fact about me is that outside of the classroom, I enjoy photography, watching tv shows, and singing.
