I am studying Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior with the goal of becoming a developmental psychiatrist. Outside of school, I do work-study at the Cross Cultural Center, and in my free time practice my Japanese! I was born and raised in Silicon Valley, but spent the majority of my teen years in Hawaii, so I have learned the importance of health care, and how treatment varies depending on the areas you are from.

I am interested in studying biology education research, because of the major disparities within this field. In the healthcare system itself, we can see racial disparities both in the doctors and patients, and I think it’s important to have ethnic and racial representation in every field of study, but even more in health care, where one has to take every person into account. I look forward to working with Dr. Tripp in studying how to promote people of diverse backgrounds in STEM fields!
